Capitec's recent
introduction of a selfie verification feature has left some customers unhappy
and frustrated. The feature, designed to enhance security, requires customers
to take a selfie for transactions, including small amounts like R50.
However, some users
have reported difficulties with the camera quality, leading to failed
verifications and stranded transactions. Insert(face verification) One concerned customer shared her
experience, stating that she was unable to make a direct transfer to Uber due
to failed facial recognition, causing inconvenience to her daily life.
While acknowledging
Capitec's efforts to ensure account security, customers are calling for a balance
between safety and convenience. They argue that the feature should not hinder
everyday transactions, emphasizing the need for a seamless banking experience.
Capitec has yet to respond to these concerns, leaving customers wondering if
the benefits of the selfie verification feature outweigh the frustrations it
has caused. As the debate continues, customers await a solution that
prioritizes both security and convenience.
