Today marks the closing of the visit to Upington by a world-class mobile breast cancer screening unit. The unit has been stationed at the Kalahari Mall since July 22, 2024. During this period, mammograms and breast ultrasounds for women were conducted. An annual mammogram is recommended for all women from the age of 40, as it can detect breast cancer even before a lump can be felt. According to information, a mammogram is a specialized X-ray that detects abnormalities in breast tissue by capturing detailed images and is the best way to reveal early signs of breast cancer. This all-female unit began its journey through the Northern Cape in Kimberley on June 20, 2024. The unit will conclude its visit to the province in Springbok, starting on Monday, August 5, 2024, until August 15, 2024. Furthermore, this initiative is a partnership between the non-profit organization Screen Her Save Her and KSR Keystone Radiology.
