The Department of Cooperative Governance Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs has provided an update on the 1 billion housing projects progress in the Frances baard area as launched earlier this year. Babalwa Mzambo spokesperson to the department says Lettam Consulting started laying the foundations in Diamond Park on Tuesday, the 30th of July 2024. She says a total number of 89 houses are to be constructed in the area, and so far 11 foundations are laid. Furthermore as work progresses, the expectation is for the workers to move to the next site, Santa 46, upon completing their current tasks. The contractor is set to begin construction in Santa within the next two weeks. Mzambo says in Lerato park and elllicidor 178 cc, Malome Business Enterprises, have finished setting up their sites and will start construction at the beginning of next week. Meanwhile, she notes that there is a delay with the commencing of the Ganspan 71 construction because of the fluctuations in the water table levels that are caused by changes in precipitation between seasons.
