The Small Enterprise Development Agency will be
hosting a pop- up market over a two-day period, starting today in Postmasburg. Pop-up
markets were first introduced by the agency in the 2021/22 financial year, to
unlock growth opportunities for SMMEs to access markets. According to
information entrepreneurs in rural and farming communities in South Africa
agree that the SEDA pop-up markets have
provided them with much-needed access to local markets. Seda and entrepreneurs
who have witnessed the power and positive effect of these pop-up markets are
thus encouraging rural-based small businesses to attend pop-up markets to grow
their business. Bongiwe Thatelo, head of Market Stakeholder Relations for
SEDA Northern Cape says that the agency is targeting 25 SME’s for this pop-up.
