Annually since 2015, the National Union of Mineworkers' National Women Structure, with support from its entities such as MIT, JB MARKS and others, honors Mandela month by contributing to underprivileged communities. This year, the union announced that in the John Taolo Gaetsewe District, they constructed an ECD for Mamoratwe ECD in Seven Miles Village, Kuruman. The union says the new facility includes two classrooms, two toilets, an office, and a kitchen, and was completed in three weeks. It says the project generated 25 temporary jobs within the community. The Executive Mayor of the John Taolo Gaetsewe District Municipality, Queen Pulane Thoane-Mogatle, commended the National Union of Mineworkers for their enduring contribution to Seven Miles Village.
