The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) in the
Northern Cape conducted a community outreach and a legal clinic in
Windsorton this morning. The commission says in a statement, the program was held at the Hebron Park Community Hall. The office of the SAHRC
in the province states that it recognizes the importance of maintaining strong
connections with local communities to fulfill its mandate, thus the need and
importance of the outreach and clinic. The commission says that the outreach
and legal clinic is aimed at creating awareness about the work of the
Commission, enhancing its visibility and reach within communities as well as
providing free legal assistance to vulnerable people and marginalized
communities in the Windsorton area. Moreover, the commission says that through this
engagement it needed to provide residents of the area an opportunity to engage
directly with representatives from the Commission and to learn about the
services that are provided by the Commission.
