All academic, administrative and service operations at the Sol Plaatjie University has returned to normal today. Professor Andrew Crouch, Vice-Chancellor & Principal says that the Student Representative Council suspended their protest activities which erupted last week Monday, 06 May 2024 following the Council decision on catering for residence students. Students and academic staff resorted to working from home last week after academic activities and operations at the SPU were brought to a halt as the protest which began peacefully, became violent and the SAPS had to intervene.  Professor Crouch expressed his gratitude to everyone who ensured that work continued during the student protests.
