Registrations for special votes are closing this afternoon at 5pm, as the province and country is preparing for the provincial and national elections 2024. The frail and people with disabilities are particularly encouraged to register for special votes in the remaining hours of this day. The call to register for special votes was made during a provincial consultation session held between various bodies in the disability sector and the IEC in the Northern Cape. At the time of the consultation session the disability sector called on the commission to include material that is inclusive of the disabled. Furthermore, the disability sector laid emphasis on the importance that party agents be adequately trained alongside the respective partners in the disability sector to curb the challenges faced by disabled sector of which illiteracy is great and general challenge.
