Successful beneficiaries of the YWD and  Township and Rural Empowerment Programmes (TREP) today received funding and equipment jointly handover by The Premier of the Northern Cape, Dr. Zamani Saul, along with the MEC responsible for Youth, Women, Persons living with disabilities, Communication and e-Government, Venus Blennies, and the MEC for Finance, Economic Development and Tourism, Abraham Vosloo.  The TEP programme aims to supports informal, micro and small enterprises and cooperatives in the rural and township economies. It further provides blended finance and business development support to various sectors with a view of promoting their participation in the mainstream economy. The handing over took place at the Tol Speelman Civic Centre. The YWD Enterprise Development Fund handover will also take place in the two remaining districts, while the TREP Fund handover ceremony will proceed to one more district.
