The department of sport, arts and culture says they commemorated World Book Day at Kenhardt High School yesterday. The department says the day was celebrated under the theme: "Read Your Way" is the theme for the 2024 World Book Day. Every year, people all over the world celebrate World Book Day to encourage reading and book ownership. The goal of World Book Day is to provide every child and young adult with a personal book. It is also an occasion to honor writers and illustrators and, above all, to celebrate reading. In addition to showcasing the Northern Cape Provincial Library Services outreach and advocacy work in support of a culture of reading, writing, and publishing in indigenous languages, the NC Provincial Library Services and the five district libraries participated in the 2024 World Book Day events.
