The Kuruman regional court recently handed down a 21 year direct prison sentence to a 28 year old man Emmanuel Modise following the kidnapping, assault and rape of a 15 year old girl in Kuruman on Saturday, the 24th November 2018. Police spokesperson sergeant Timothy Sam says the victim was on her way home when she was accosted by the accused who ordered her to go with him to his residence. Sam says the victim allegedly refused and the accused stabbed her in her head and dragged her to his residence and raped her. He says the victim was allegedly forced to spend the night with the accused and was only released the following day. His name will be recorded into the National Sex Offenders register.
