The Northern Cape high court in Kimberley sentenced a 47 year old man Andries Mano Buffel to 38 years imprisonment for the murder of his girlfriend. Police spokesperson sergeant Merapelo Pilane says police received a complaint regarding a shooting incident in Modderrivier on the 7th June 2023 at nine o’clock in the evening. Pilane says upon arrival at the scene police found 2 adults lying on the ground, both with gunshot wounds. He says they were both transported to the hospital, where the victim succumbed to her injuries. According to a police statement, the accused was declared unfit to possess a firearm.
