The Mec responsible for education in the Northern Cape,
Zolile Monakali, alongside premier Dr Zamani Saul, today opened the doors of the
Rooirand primary school in Barkly West.
In his opening remarks Monakali expressed his gratitude to parents, teachers,
and the broader community for their patience during the building of the school.
He alluded that the afore mentioned fought tirelessly for the erecting of the
school which has finaly realised. The mec pleaded with the community to take
care of the school as this is a starting point for future leaders. Dr Saul, delivering
the keynote address alluded that upon taking up the position as premier dating
back to 2019, one of the key priorities were to expand the school infrastructure
in the province. Saul said that the objective is to have a total of 23 new schools
built across the province, with a total of 10 already finished and thirteen more
to be completed. He said a collective approach is needed to ensure the success
of the school.
