The MEC responsible for education in the Northern Cape,
Zolile Monakai expressed his gratitude to the MERSETA for the 210 milion investment made by the
entity. The launch of this investment was officiated today earlier today. A total of 11 schools in the province will be
beneficiaries of this investment from which three schools in the ZF MNgcawu district
namely high schools Duinevld, Saul Damon and Daniekskuil highschool will receive
technical equipment. Monakali said through this investment learners will be
empowered and prepared for further development and studies. He alluded that equipment
needed to execute technical subjects is expensive as the expenses of single
machine can amount to 50 thousand rand.
Monakali said that he is hopeful that the relationship between the northern
cape provincial government and the merseta will extend to the future to reach
the National Development Plan for 2030. The investment made by the merseta is believed
to produce skills that align with the job market skills of the Northern Cape.
