Framers market days crucial to combat the fight in poverty

Farmers from the Roodepan Kimberley area will gather on April 12, 2024, for a farmers market day coordinated by the Northern Cape's Department of Agriculture, Environmental Affairs, Rural Development, and Land Reform. This follows on the back of a recent Farmers Day in Galeshewe. According to the department, backyard garden and poultry farming is vital in combating poverty, nutrition, and rising food prices. Additionally, it helps to promote sustainable living. Farmers market days provide an opportunity for farmers to market and sell their agricultural produce. As a result, they can produce income to ensure food security and long-term livelihoods.
