A 27 year old Romeo Van Wyk  was sentenced to 6 years imprisonment which is wholly suspended for 5 years by Carnavon regional court on Friday, the 5 April 2024. Police spokesperson sergeant Timothy Sam says Romeo allegedly had an argument with his 26 year old girlfriend Bianca Neels on the 9th September 2023 that led him to physically assaulting her and their 2 year old child who was thrown against a wall by the accused. Sam says in an unrelated case Bianca Neels assaulted her 4 year old son on the 21st August 2023 and she was sentenced to 5 years direct imprisonment. He says both accused names were recorded in the national register for child protection and were declared unfit to possess a firearm.
