An integrated approach by all role players is needed for the success of hemp, was the emphasis by MEC Mase Manopole, responsible for agriculture, environmental affairs, rural development, and land reform in the Northern Cape. Manopole further stressed that there is immense potential of hemp to create employment opportunities and stimulate economic growth in the region. with a specific focus on empowering around 100 smallholder farmers. Furthermore, MEC Manopole says that it is essential that small scale farmers who are interested in hemp production be equipped with knowledge and resources, to enhance their capacity to participate effectively in the evolving hemp industry, which will further contribute to economic diversification and rural development in the Northern Cape.
