World Earth Day which is annually celebrated on 22 April sends
a reminder of the urgent need to address the detrimental effects of human
activities globally. Upington, a town known for its natural beauty, faces its
own challenges with plastic pollution reportedly causing harm to the river and
the river channels and affecting residents' health. To address this issue,
Upington residents are educating and raising awareness on responsible waste
management. Local environmental activist Sasha-Lee van Wyk was enthusiastic to
elaborate on her efforts to clean up around Upington….
