A 40 year old mother who was found guilty for the brutal assault on her 12 year old son was sentenced in the Carnavon Magistrates court. Police spokesperson Lieutenant colonel Sergio Kock says the mother allegedly accused her son of stealing money from his stepfather on the 28th September 2023. Kock says the accused then severely assaulted the victim in his face and his body until he collapsed and severely assaulted him until his aunt intervened. He says the mother was sentenced to 6 years imprisonment which is wholly suspended for 5 years yesterday. Kock says the accused's name was also entered into the national register for child protection and she was declared unfit to possess a firearm.
