the provincial house of traditional leaders capacity building seminar

The Northern Cape Provincial Government, under the leadership of the Premier, Dr Zamani Saul, is expected to meet with the Provincial House of Traditional and Khoi-San Leaders in Kuruman, on the 4th and 5th of April 2024 for a capacity-building seminar. According to an official statement by the provincial government provides that the seminar aims to engage the Traditional Leaders, Headmen and Headwomen on the challenges confronting Traditional Councils and jointly seek resolutions and proposals to enhance the work of Traditional Councils and furthermore intends to build capacity for traditional councils and find ways to bridge the gap between communities, government, broader civil society and private sectors as well as accelerate service delivery in traditional communities. the premier will be joined by Members of the Executive Council, the Executive Mayor from the John Taolo Gaetsewe District Municipality, Mayors, Speakers, Chief Whips and Municipal Managers from the three local municipalities as well as Senior Officials from National and Provincial Government. the provincial government provides that the seminar is expected to take place over two days and says day 2  will focus on capacity building by inducting all Traditional Leaders on the opportunities by Provincial and National Government departments to build structured relationships between Government and Traditional Leaders.
