Police who saved a 2 year old toddler from a burning shack

Police says acting provincial commissioner major general Luntu Ngubelanga commended the swift and decisive action executed by Hanover police who saved a 2 year old toddler from a burning shack on Saturday, the 23rd March 2024. Police spokesperson sergeant Timothy Sam says the mother of the infant alerted the police that her boyfriend forcefully took their child from her and locked him and the toddler inside his shack threatening to burn down the shack. Sam says police officials who were on the scene tried to negotiate with the suspect to release the toddler until they noticed smoke coming from the shack. He says police removed the child and apprehended and charged the suspect for attempted murder. He is expected to appear at Hanover magistrate court soon.
