ARC conducting research in Upt

The Agricultural Research Council is conducting trials in Upington to determine the Hemp Seed that will be suitable and adaptable for the Northern Cape province. The council says six different kind of seeds are currently planted to determine which of the six would be adaptable to be planted. The presence of the Agricultural Research Council was made known during the recent Hemp Workshop held in Kimberly. MEC responsible for the department Agriculture, Environmental Affairs and Rural Development and Land Reform in the Northern Cape, Mase Manopole during the workshop said that an integrated approach by all role players are needed for the success of Hemp in the province. Furthermore, she highlighted that Hemp has the potential to create employment opportunities and contribute towards the provincial economy.
