Consumer Rights Day is commemorated today under the theme: fair and responsible artificial
intelligence for consumersâ€. The MEC responsible for Finance, Economic
Development and Tourism in the Northern Cape, Abraham Vosloo addressed the provincial
celebrations in the John Taulo Gaetsewe District. Meanwhile, the
Deputy Minister for Trade, Industry and Competition, Nomalungelo Gina, joined
the National Consumer Commission (NCC) in commemorating the day at the
University of the Free State where she delivered the keynote address with the
focus on the significance of consumer rights and the government’s commitment to
ensuring consumer safety. World Consumer Rights Day aim to raise global awareness on
consumer rights, protection, and
empowering consumers about their
rights and ensuring compliance among suppliers.
