The MEC for Cooperative Governance Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs in the Northern Cape Bentley Vass launched a Housing Rectification Project in Mier this past Saturday, to address the issue of 197 houses previously being demolished in the Mier area in the ZF Mgcawu district. The Spokesperson for the department Babalwa Mzambo says the event of the day also serves as a service delivery meeting during which resident could raise their service delivery concerns to which the MEC Vass assured residents that the department is aware of the challenges faced by the communities especially in the areas of water heth and electricity and said that they are working hard at ensuring that all the needs of the communities are met thus the implementation of this project in Mier which focuses on the Rectification of the demolished houses and ensuring that the community members are provided with safe and secure housing.
