International Women's day celebrated in Keimoes

This year marks 125 years of International Women's day as the day was first observed on 08 March in 1911 with women around the world demanding equal rights which included a right to vote and improved working conditions. The day was officially recognized by the UN in 1977. This year's celebration is commemorated under the theme: inspire inclusion. These celebrations come at a time as South Africa prepares for the Provincial and National elections taking place on 29 May 2024. Women from the provincial government, different NGO's including women in civil society gathered at the Keimoes town hall on 08 March in celebration of International Women's Day.
