The Rastafari community in ZF Mgcawu district in partnership with the indigenous communities are planning a March to the provincial police offices in Upington on the 5th March 2024. One of the organizers of the march who is the secretary of the Rastafari organization in Upington Levi Nico Papier says the march will start at nine o’clock in the morning. Papier says they want to make their voices heard by government. He says some of their rights are violated and they want their rights to be respected. Papier is accusing the police of using their power to abuse the rights of the Rastafari community when they use cannabis. He says they use cannabis for life purposes in their religion and tradition amongst others.
