Ezekiel Baruti, Eskom's Customer Relations Manager, explained why it
is dangerous to build shacks or dwellings adjacent to or beneath
high-voltage powerlines where he says, a fault anywhere on the power line can cause a very strong current to flow down the pylon to the ground. He says a conductor
may break owing to high winds or harsh weather and land on a shack/house or a
