GBVF SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTING TO MURDER HIS GIRLFRIEND IN FRASERBURG

A 38-year-old man is scheduled to appear in the Fraserburg Magistrates court for attempted murder. The suspect is accused of allegedly repeatedly stabbing his 22-year-old girlfriend with a knife and leaving her for dead. According to a police statement, the suspect and the victim—his girlfriend—were visiting his father in Fraserburg on Friday, February 23, 2024, when there was an altercation and the victim decided to walk home. The police say, on the way, she was approached by the suspect, who pulled her into an open veld and repeatedly stabbed her in the face and upper body. The police say the victim was stabilized and sent to a Kimberley hospital, where she is currently in a critical condition. The police say the suspect was discovered hiding in the veld yesterday.
