Provincial integrated police in partnership with relevant external role players including community police forums, the South African National Defense Force, department of Home Affairs, department of Labour and other role players held provincial operation. According to a police statement the mission of the operation was to ensure that all cross-border crime and illegal activities would be addressed. The police says, priority crimes were addressed by means of high-density patrols in urban and rural communities, roadblocks and vehicle check points and traffic summonses amounting to over R400 000 were issued. Police says traffic fines to the amount of over R363 000 were issued for assorted violations.
