The Executive Council of Pixley Ka Seme Municipality, under the leadership of Executive Mayor Rhoode Itumeleng, accompanied by the Speaker handi Sintu and the Mayoral Councillors of the Pixley ka Seme District Municipality as well as Councillors from Siyancuma Local Municipality yesterday held a community meeting in Douglas. The municipality says, they held and continue to hold these meetings for the purpose of creating a platform for communities to make inputs into the implementation of the service delivery plan and ultimately hold the government accountable on its mandate. The municipality says furthermore the programme also afforded the Siyancuma community a unique platform to interact with their leadership and to advice on better ways of carrying out their electoral mandate of creating a decent work, providing quality education and primary healthcare, rural development, ensuring food security, land reform and above all, the fight against crime and corruption. The municipality says that the Executive Mayor also used the opportunity to provide feedback to the community in regards to the issues which the community raised ranging from infrastructure, lack of recreation facilities, sanitation and youth development and outlined the role of Pixley ka Seme District Municipality and reflected on the outcomes of the Tourism Investment Summit as well as the funding opportunities available to entrepreneurs.
