The Department of Roads and Public Works in the Northern Cape says they are currently engaged in the renovations of the Dr. Arthur Letele Medical Logistics Centre in Fabricia Road in Kimberley. The department provides in an official statement that this facility serves as a warehouse for medical supplies and to the benefit of addressing social issues like the high rate of unemployment, to date, the renovation of the Medical Logistics Centres has created 30 job opportunities. The department says, the workers received training in risk assessment, working at heights, emergency evacuation, and the importance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) before the start of this project. The department also adds that at the completion of the renovation this facility will comply with the building regulations and provide a safe and conducive working environment for its employees and will allow easy access to people with disabilities.
