A 30 year old man from Philipstown was sentenced to 7 years imprisonment for the rape of a 22 year old female. The South African Police Service in De Aar says the sentence was handed down on 12 February 2024. Police spokesperson Lieutenant colonel Sergio Kock says the incident allegedly happened on the 3rd February 2023 at nine o’clock in the evening when the suspect, the victim and her husband were drinking on a farm near Philipstown.
