Police says a case of arson was registered for investigation by the police in Paballelo on Saturday, the 4th of February 2024. Police spokesperson sergeant Omphile Masegela says it is alleged that there was a quarrel between a woman and her ex-boyfriend, and she later set the informal structure which they used to live in together alight. Masegela says the suspect was arrested and charged with arson. The suspect is expected to appear at Upington magistrate’s court soon on a charge of arson. According to a police statement, all items in the house were burned beyond recognition, and nothing was left. Masegela says the fire was extinguished by the Upington fire fighters.
