2 northern cape students depart to study in Vietnam

The Premier of the Northern Cape Dr. Zamani Saul together with Members of the Executive Council on Saturday night bid farewell to two learners who are the first cohort of 5 learners from the Northern Cape who will study Maritime Engineering for a period of 4 years at the Vietnam Maritime University. According to a statement by the provincial government, these learners are part of Government’s vision of preparing the Northern Cape child to take on opportunities presented by its catalytic projects, in this case the anticipated Boegoebaai Port and Rail Harbour in the Namakwa District. The first two students who the send off was held for, is 23 year old Phemelo Secwalo from Jan kempdorp and the 28 year old Visicelo Jikwana from Kimberly. The Premier wished the two well and encouraged the students to stick together and ensure that as a collective they do good at the University.
