Environmental Activists express disappointment with President Ramaphosa’s stance on climate change at State of the Nation Address

The State Of the Nation Address delivered by President Cyril Ramaphosa last night is said to have left many environmental activists feeling disappointed and concerned about the stance on climate change. In his address, the President emphasized the importance of economic growth and energy security but failed to address the urgent need to transition away from fossil fuels and the continuation of coastal oil drilling. One of the environmental activists, Liz McDaid, Strategic Lead of the Green Connection had the following to say....... INSERT [MCDAID] Given the President's uplifting comments, environmental activists say they are quite worried and on guard, hoping that the intentions of the president will materialize for South Africa.
