Sol plaaitjie university registration week

The Sol Plaaitjie university last week opened their gates for first-time students to register for the 2024 academic year and further provided that their first-year registration will remain open till the 16th of February 2024. The university however published a notice on their official social media that the University’s Central and South campuses experienced power supply interruptions from Friday, 2 February, to Sunday, 4 February 2024, due to faulty connections at one of the primary Municipality substations feeding these campuses. The university says Generators supplied sufficient power at both campuses to mitigate the power interruptions but acknowledges that these interruptions caused a delay in the registration process for many students especially those applying for a space at a residence. As a result thereof the university provides that students who have received a firm residence offer and still need to complete the residence registration have until 17h00 today, 5 February 2024, and notes that a failure to register may result in the forfeiting of a place at a residence. Meanwhile The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has extended the deadline for applications for student financial aid to 15 February 2024.
