ActionSA congratulates the SA Van Swum High School Class of
2023 on what they call their incredible success despite the disruption caused by
loadshedding. In a statement the party says, during the examination
period in 2023, ActionSA made visits to schools throughout the province to
encourage our students. Action SA Northern Cape spokesperson Andrew Louw says, it was very concerning to see some of the students
studying with flashlights and candles. He says these students not only struggled to
read and study efficiently in difficult conditions, but they also lacked access
to essential learning tools and devices required for modern teaching and
learning. ActionSA took to the media demanding that Minister of Basic
Education, Angie Motshekga, provide answers on how she plans to mitigate
disruptions in learning and studying. Louw says, ActionSA continues, stating that
their fight to put an end to the ruling government's unconstitutional actions
will continue. They go on to say that their policy advocates for immediate
interventions in critical sectors like education to ensure that schools and
other places of learning are protected from loadshedding to prevent disruptions
in learning and teaching.
