The Green Connection, an eco-justice organization, has expressed its
dismay over the recent appointment of Equator Holdings to fund and rebuild
critical gas infrastructure. According to a recent media report by the
AmaBungane Centre for Investigative Journalism, Equator Holdings did not meet
the tender requirements, thus lacking both the necessary track record and skills
for such a massive undertaking.

Holdings and questioned the government and PetroSA's decision to entrust them
with a project worth over R21 billion.
