The South African Police Service in the province embarked on 'back to school" awareness campaigns at several primary and secondary schools in rural and urban areas across the province today.  Police spokesperson colonel Cherelle Ehlers says district commissioners, senior officers and station commanders led the campaign. Ehlers says parents and learners were addressed on school safety, discipline, school attendance and the consequences of becoming involved in criminal activities. She says the campaign was conducted in conjunction with government departments, the community police forums and other structures.
