Community members are urged to adhere and implement

As the new year have started, the police have reiterated its call to members of the community to adhere and implement safety tips to protect themselves against scams and fraud. The South African Police Service in the Northern Cape says, people are scammed in various ways and criminals are now using technology to get to people. Police says phishing and fraud scams are deceitful emails and messages criminals send which promises large sums of money or even great prizes. Members of the community are urged to be careful and delete these messages and remember if they did not enter any competition they cannot win these promised prizes. Residents are also advised against providing their ID numbers, passwords or PINs to anyone.
