The South African Police Service says they have conducted 14 roadblocks and 30 vehicle check points with the focus on combating transit crimes in different locations in the province during which over 2700 vehicles and over 6400 persons were stopped and searched the past weekend. Police spokesperson Sergeant Timothy Sam says compliance inspections across the province were conducted at second hand dealers, liquor premises, scrapyards, recyclers, private security establishments, firearm dealers, formal and informal businesses, farms and mines.
