The department of roads and public works provides on their official social media that road users are cautioned to be on alert on the N1 between Hanover and Colesburg, as an accident has taken place on this road where a truck veered off the road. They further provide that the Police, Traffic officers and EMS have been activated to attend to this accident.
Meanwhile
The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) has issued an official statement to inform road users that they are currently attending to a localised road failure that has developed on the N12 Section 7, between Britstown and Strydenburg in the Northern Cape.
Earlier this week a section of the road was found to have a sinkhole . This one lane (approximately 21.8 km north of Britstown) on the N12 is currently still closed, and the Road Maintenance team is on site, providing traffic accommodation via a Stop/Go system. Naashif mower sanral project manager added to the statement and says that they are assessing the scope and extent of the failure and the outcome of the assessment will provide guidance on the most appropriate remedial action to be taken.
