Farm workers suffer the most during extreme weather conditions

While climate change brings challenges for the entire agricultural community, it is the farm workers who bear the brunt of the scorching temperatures and inclement weather conditions. In Arid towns such as Upington and surrounding areas farm workers face grabbling consequences of a nationwide heatwave. The combination of physical labour and high temperatures put farm workers at serious risk of heatwave exhaustion, heatstroke and other heat-related illnesses.
