In support of the rehabilitation programme at the Marcus Mbetha Secure Care centre in Upington, the Premier, Dr. Zamani Saul, handed over sporting equipment to the netball and soccer teams, mid - December 2023.  The equipment will be utilized in its totality during a sports tournament to be hosted by the premier in the month of February 2024. According to Jenna Johnson, acting institutional manager, the learners are currently underway with preparations for the tournament. Johnson says a total of twelve children are currently undergoing rehabilitation, however this total is subjected to change at the start of February.
