The operation shanela

The South African Police Service says a number of vehicle check points were conducted in Kagisho, Roodepan, and Galeshewe where over 1700 persons were searched,  close to 500 vehicles stopped and searched and 83 traffic fines issued amongst others. Police spokesperson sergeant Dikeledi Gopane says brigadier Simon Bopape visited local tuck-shops for compliance inspections with the Sol Plaatje municipal peace officers and health inspectors. Gopane says 5 tuckshops were closed down for non compliance and 2 fines were issued to the value of R3000. She says operations will continue beyond the festive season.
