The South African Police Service says they arrested a 44 year old man for the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition as well as illegal dealing in drugs at a farm in Kenhardt on Monday, the 11th December 2023. Police spokesperson sergeant Omphile Masegela says police discovered and cofiscated of dagga and hydrophonic dagga to the value of more than R900 000. Masegela says a total of  processed hydrophonic dagga valued at over R 47 000 000, 872  dagga plants valued at over R 87 000, 8 rifles and 2 revolvers with an estimated value of R350 000-00, ammunition with an estimated value of R16 000-00 and  various other evidence was confiscated. She says fireams and ammunition were also recovered during the search and the owner could not provide any documentation for these firearms.
