The provincial government close off 16 days of activism and commemorate world aids day

The Northern Cape Provincial Government in partnership with key stakeholders and men organizations hosted a provincial GBVF Dialogue in the John Taolo Gaetsewe district and says this program served as a basis to intensify the fight against GBVF with the purpose of upscaling men and boys programmes into their #365 days campaign. The provincial government says that they hosted a successful provincial world aids day commemoration event yesterday which additionally marked the closing of the 16 days of activism of no violence against women and children. During the event the Premier, Dr. Zamani Saul, delivered the keynote address and reflected on the great strides made in an effort to fight the battle against AIDS. The premier also added that the provincial government through many Government programmes managed to ensure that there is a decline in new infections and that many people are on treatment provided by Government. As part of the activities of this day the provincial government launched two additional programmes which will assist in the fight against HIV/AIDS, namely the TB Caucus, which will reside the office of the Speaker of the Provincial Legislature, and the teenage pregnancy strategy and have made a call on all sectors in society, these include, Traditional Leaders and Healers, the church, the Northern Cape Community and Political Parties, to work together with it to end the scourge of HIV/AIDS.
