The Hartswater regional court recently imposed an 8 year imprisonment sentence on a 21 year old man Adam Motabogi and a 22 year old man Macdonald Sewedi for raping a 52 year old woman in Jan Kempdorp on the 22nd November 2016. The court heared that the victim was at the Jan Kempdorp dumping site collecting wood and recycling tins when the 2 suspects who were minors at the time of the incident assaulted, stabbed and raped her repeatedly. Police spokesperson sergeant Timothy Sam says the suspects were linked through DNA. Sam says the accused names will be entered in the national register for sexual offences and are declared unfit to possess a firearms.
