The Tsantsabane local municipality will be launching the Postmansburg shelter for victims of gender based violence this week on Friday 8 December 2023. The municipality says for this launch a total of 150 community members are targeted as well as 50 stakeholders. The municipality says the purpose of launching this shelter is to ensure that victims of GBV have access to a safe environment and are provided with what the municipality refers to as therapeutic services to graduate them from being victims to being survivors, to ensure that GBV services are easily accessible to all victims especially in disadvantaged farm and rural areas, and to minimize the chances of secondary victimization to victims of GBV amongst other things. The municipality provides that their launch will be taking place at the postmansburg town hall.
