The Safer Festive Season Operations yielded significant drug successes in Springbok when two men were apprehended and arrested for dealing in drugs worth about R30 000-00. Lieutenant Colonel Sergio Kock, says the Springbok Public Order Policing unit, yesterday pounced on the first suspected drug house in Bergsig and arrested a 27 year old male with 82 Mandrax tablets and 44,72g of Tik with an estimated street value of R20 000-00. In a second incident a 36 year old male suspect was caught red-handed with 3 Mandrax tablets, 18,98g of Tik and 1,04kg dagga all worth about R10 000-00. The two suspects were charged with dealing in drugs and will be appearing in the Springbok Magistrates' Court soon. The investigation continues. The District Commissioner for Namakwa, Brig Schalk Andrews commended the Public Order Policing unit for their unabated efforts to rid the streets of drugs and reiterated that SAPS is ready to keep the province safe and secure during the Festive Season and beyond.
